Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Under the direct supervision of a licensed professional, provides for patient care activities which include bathing, feeding, positioning, ambulating, monitoring vital signs and maintains a clean environment.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education: High school graduate or equivalent is preferred.

B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Must have good communication skills and the ability to comprehend and follow verbal or written instructions. Must be able to perform basic nursing skills using tact, patience and courtesy; and must have the ability to work confidentially with discretion.

C. Licensure, Registry or Certification: Certified Nursing Assistant certification.

D. Experience:
1. Prior Work Experience: One year of nurse aide practice in a health care setting is preferred.

2. Technical Training: None required.

E. Physical and Mental requirements: Duties of the position require extended periods of standing and walking. Bending, stooping, twisting, pulling, reaching with arms, feeling with hands and fingers, is required when working with patients and equipment. Lifting and/or moving up to 150 pounds, using assistance or lifting aids may be required when moving or supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless. Some stress because of heavy work load and meeting demands of patients and staff in a timely manner.

Other requirements include close, distance, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Duties require the ability to hear and respond appropriately to alarms on equipment, patient call systems and instructions from physicians, staff, patients and visitors.

The work is performed in a nursing unit where the employee may be exposed to all patient
elements, including stressful emergency situations. The work environment noise level is
moderate.

Mon-Thurs 3 pm - 11 pm or Fri, Sat, Sun 7 am - 7 pm
